Whether it’s introducing the game of golf to veterans and active-duty military through PGA Hope, pledging financial support for Birdies for Good, or sporting a golf-themed Arizona license plate on your ride, there’s many ways to get involved with the life-changing initiatives supported by Southwest PGA Foundation and the game of golf.
PGA Hope
PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) introduces golf to veterans and active-duty military to enhance their physical, mental, social and emotional well-being. The program introduces the game of golf through a developmental 6-8-week curriculum led by PGA Professionals trained in adaptive golf and military cultural competency. All programs are funded by PGA REACH and supplemented by the Southwest PGA Foundation, so the cost of programming is free to all veterans.
Birdies for Good
Birdies for Good events uses golf as a platform for giving back to communities across Arizona and Southern Nevada. In these fun-filled events, Southwest PGA Professionals play 72 holes, all in one day, in an effort to raise money for Ronald McDonald House Charities, Alice Cooper’s Solid Rock Teen Centers and the Southwest PGA Foundation. You can support our PGA Professionals as they “play for a purpose” by making a financial pledge for every birdie made or a flat donation.
GAME OF A LIFETIME
The Southwest PGA Foundation and the Arizona Department of Transportation worked together to unveil a specialty license plate available to Arizona registrants.
How much does the license plate cost?
The cost is only $25/year ($50/year if personalized). The Southwest PGA Foundation receives $17 from each license plate sold. These proceeds help facilitate SW PGA Foundation programs that strengthen our communities by serving those who live within them.
Do I need to wait until my current license plate expires?
No. You may register anytime for your specialty golf license plate.
Can I personalize my plate?
Yes. Personalized plates can be ordered at the time you purchase your new plates through the AZ MVD.
How do I purchase my plate?
Visit azmvdnow.gov/plates, click “See All” and then look for the Southwest PGA license plate in the directory. Follow instructions from there. Thank you for your support!
