Missions Align To Improve Lives Through the Game of Golf

For 40 years, Thunderbirds Charities and the WM Phoenix Open have been pillars of support for non-profit organizations throughout the valley. The Southwest PGA Foundation is honored to be a first-time recipient of this support, as our missions to improve lives through the game of golf are perfectly aligned.

This partnership will significantly enhance PGA HOPE programming across Arizona and Clark County, Nevada. With 64 sessions at 27 program sites, this support enables the Foundation to continue its mission while serving nearly 1,000 veterans in 2026. As Southwest PGA Foundation Chairman Jamey Lewis, PGA noted, “We are privileged to be selected and look forward to showcasing our impactful work with veterans across the region, while promoting the great work of Thunderbirds Charities.”

Our ability to look further into 2026 for added programming benefits is only possible with this kind of support. Each day our PGA professionals aim to be the reason a veteran starts playing the game. PGA HOPE brings that level of support and engagement not found in any other sport today says Foundation Board member Danny Medina, PGA.

Many of our 1,500 PGA professionals and several Thunderbird members already witness the positive changes this vision brings to our communities. The Southwest PGA Foundation is proud to share this journey of supporting our military veterans through golf-specific programming.
